Low-flying Aircraft Spotted at Maho Beach, Saint Martin

Famous Maho Beach located on the French Caribbean Island of Saint Martin is one of the most popular tourist attractions and perhaps the only beach in the world where aircraft can be viewed so closely thus making it an aviation geek paradise. But sometimes people standing on the edge of the beach can actually be blown into the water because of the jet blast due to its short runway length of just 7,150 feet (2180 meters).

Watching aircraft closely has become the most popular activity at Maho Beach and in spite of all the danger thrill-seeking tourists cannot stop themselves from plane spotting. Interestingly, some restaurants and bar owners displaying Schedule and Timetable of daily arrivals and departures so the tourist standing on the beach never miss a single airline passing over their heads. Below are some thrilling shots of people enjoying Plane Spotting at Maho Beach, Saint Martin. Click on the photo to view the source.

According to Nickolay Lamm the idea to create these mock-up photographs depicting the Statue of Liberty and New York's skyscrapers came to his mind while looking at some awe-inspiring photos of Mount Sharp taken by NASA's Curiosity rover.
